Chi Holds Annual Fall Retreat

By Peter Orlos ’18

Last Sunday we had our annual fall semester retreat where we didn’t only bond as brothers over grilled hot dogs but also discussed important aspects of our chapter. President Colin Cowperthwaite ’18 opened the retreat’s discussion by asking the brothers how we would define Delts. Words like brotherhood, friendship, and student leaders came up; Brother Abhijeet Ball ’19 from Bangladesh summed it up by saying “we are a unique group of diverse brothers that get along and serve as our family away from home.”

One of the big events that brothers were excited about is our annual Byron J Horn Alumni Panel, this semester we want to get as many Chi Delt alumni to come back as we can! Before going into chair presentations, the chapter talked about Chi’s goals and role on campus, as well as what is currently working in the fraternity and what we could improve on. Some of our goals for this year include doing more community service for JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation), further improve our FAAR (Fraternity Awards Accreditation Report) score, and set a higher bar for the chapter’s cumulative GPA. Once we had talked about everything we had to talk about, we got the grill going and the laughs flowing — it was a great evening.
