“I was drafted into the Army in 1951, where I spent two years. My main job was teaching Army officers what the Army finances were all about. I met my wife ‘in her own backyard’–while I was stationed close by.”

“Dec. 1959 to Jan. 1980, rescue helicopter pilot, Vietnam 1966 – 1967, Thailand 1974 -1975. Was escort for two returning POW’s, one a prisoner from Sept 1965 to Feb. 1973. It is true that American POWs were left behind after the peace accords were signed.”

“I was an officer in the United States Navy from December 1962 through December 1965 attaining the rank of Lieutenant and spending three years aboard the aircraft carrier USS Forrestal.”

David G. Newhall, Army
“Served in the Minnesota National Guard Aug. 1966- March 1998. Enlisted with A Btry, 151 FA. Basic training in Ft. Bliss, TX. Advanced Individual Training in Ft. Sill, OK. Officer Candidate School in MN from 1967-68. Commissioned 2^nd Lieutenant in June ’68. Received direct commission in the JAG Corps in Nov. ’68. Staff Judge Advocate 47^th ID. Staff Judge Advocate/Army/MN Dept. Military Affairs. COL MANG RET.”

“SHARP is an acronym for Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention. I currently run Leader Development, Training, and Education for the Army in this program. I am a career Armor officer, with 27 years of service. Graduate of Kenyon, class of 84.”

Bruce A. Richardson, USN
“I joined the US Navy right after graduation.  Served four years active and six years reserve.  Started in pre-flight in Pensacola Florida.  Then basic training in the SNJ and advanced training in helicopters, all in the Pensacola area.  No real fighting, although we watched the Chinese who were thought to be about to invade Taiwan at the time.”
