Alumni Profile: Niles Keeran ’77

We recently caught up with our very own Niles Keeran ’77 and had the chance to ask him about his DTD experience, and where life since Kenyon has taken him. Here’s what he had to say: 

Where has life taken you since you graduated? Give us a brief recap up to this point including career and family highlights.

I ended up at the University of Oklahoma with another undergraduate Bachelor of Science degree and Sigma Gamma Epsilon National Geoscience Honorary in Petroleum Geology/ Engineering and Geophysics and a short term job in the oil and natural gas industry. That B.S. degree lead to a Master of Science and Graduate Research Fellowship at Wright State University in Geophysics, Hydrogeology, and Engineering Geology, a M.S. degree, and a Hydrologist job with the U.S. Department of the Interior-Geological Survey-Water Resources Division in Tampa, Florida, ten years with environmental consulting firms (IT Corporation, BSI, Handex) from Florida to Pennsylvania (ERM, Exton, PA) , Ohio ( Stantec of Columbus-R.D.Zande and Associates LTD and Flynn Environmental, Canton), to over ten years with the State of Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ)  in Phoenix, Arizona, and N finally ton NPEC in North Canton, Ohio.

What are the most important lessons you learned because of Delta Tau Delta?

All the components of the Delt Creed.

When you look back on your time in Delta Tau Delta, what moments do you tend to remember most?

The Chi Delt Symposiums and Lodge Parties as well as the Middle Leonard Hall Lounge Delt Beer Slide through the Beta Theta Pi door.
