130th Anniversary of Chi Chapter Founding

Chi Chapter was founded on January 25, 1881.  It has continued without interruption for 130 years.

Byron Horn '86
Byron Horn '86 passed away on July 22, 2010 after a brief illness. 



Byron served as Chapter President and Seargent-at-Arms during his time at Kenyon. As a student Byron designed, built and installed the DTD letters that grace the front of the building.  As an alumnus he took an active interest in the Lodge and devoted countless hours on improving the facility.  There is not a single room that Byron did not materially impact with his handiwork.  In 2000 he led a team of alumni and undergraduates on a two day major renovation project.  Most recently, he chaired the building committee of the Securing Our Future capital campaign.  In the past three years he personally oversaw the installation of a new roof, new back porch, new windows, new sliding doors, updated the entire electrical system, improved HVAC system, stuccoed the chimney, new front doors, and most recently the installation of new wood panelling upstairs.  Byron's work and dedication to the Lodge was unparalleled.  Let us each remember his dedication everytime we step through those beautiful front doors.

Reflections on the Class of 2010
The Delt Class of 2010 set high marks for academics, athletics and service.  Former Chapter President Ben Kester led the group graduating summa cum laude and class valedictorian.

Psi Upsilon Chapter Suspended
John Lloyd Owen '68, the alumni spokesperson for Iota Chapter of Psi Upsilon, announced the deactivation of the current Iota Chapter membership at Kenyon, effective June 2, 2010. He also stated that Dean of Students Toutain would entertain a petition for reinstatement as early as June 2012, and that upon its restoration, the Iota chapter will be eligible for division housing in accordance with established College procedures for its allocation.
It is important for all fraternities at Kenyon, Delta Tau Delta included, that the Psi Us recolonize and obtain reinstatement from Kenyon as quickly as possible.  A strong fraterinity system benefits all fraternities.  We wish our Leonard Hall neighbors a swift return.

Delts Lead Swim Team to 31st Championship
Kenyon won its 31^st consecutive D-III national championship as six Delts earned All-American honors.

Gregg Parini Named NCAC Coach of the Year for Denison
Denison head swimming coach Gregg Parini ’82 took both his men’s and women’s teams to second place finishes at the NCAA D-III championships.  He was named NCAC Coach of the Year.
