600 Date: 7/25/2010 to 10/1/2010 Byron Horn '86 passed away on July 22, 2010 after a brief illness. 



Byron served as Chapter President and Seargent-at-Arms during his time at Kenyon. As a student Byron designed, built and installed the DTD letters that grace the front of the building.  As an alumnus he took an active interest in the Lodge and devoted countless hours on improving the facility.  There is not a single room that Byron did not materially impact with his handiwork.  In 2000 he led a team of alumni and undergraduates on a two day major renovation project.  Most recently, he chaired the building committee of the Securing Our Future capital campaign.  In the past three years he personally oversaw the installation of a new roof, new back porch, new windows, new sliding doors, updated the entire electrical system, improved HVAC system, stuccoed the chimney, new front doors, and most recently the installation of new wood panelling upstairs.  Byron's work and dedication to the Lodge was unparalleled.  Let us each remember his dedication everytime we step through those beautiful front doors.

He also stated that Dean of Students Toutain would entertain a petition for reinstatement as early as June 2012, and that upon its restoration, the Iota chapter will be eligible for division housing in accordance with established College procedures for its allocation.
